The Green Key certification is an international eco-labeling program that recognizes and rewards companies in the hospitality industry, including hostels, for sustainable operations and eco-friendly practices. It’s a great way to demonstrate commitment to environmental protection and appeal to travelers who value sustainability.
Using solar panels and air-to-air systems helps to reduce energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions, which is important for preserving the environment. It is also positive to offer organic products in the kitchen, as it promotes health and sustainable food production.
Such initiatives demonstrate our commitment to caring for nature and preserving it for future generations. We also hold the bronze organic food label.
We are happy to announce that Danhostel Skanderborg has achieved the coveted bronze organic dining label! This prestigious label symbolizes our dedication to sustainability and quality in our dining offerings.
The label requires that at least 30-60% of the ingredients we use are organic, and we are proud to have met and even exceeded this standard. We are now striving to achieve the Silver Organic Food Label, which requires 60-90% of our ingredients to be organic.
A hostel is generally cheaper than a hotel. We offer more budget-friendly accommodation, without compromising on quality.
Danhostel has shared facilities such as guest kitchens, common living rooms and dining areas. This gives our guests the opportunity to cook their own meals and save money on restaurant visits. It is also a great opportunity to meet other travelers from all over the world and make social connections.
